A tight entrance, poor visibility, a steep gradient and a narrow residential road made access difficult for this proposed residential estate access therefore the developers called our transport consultants to discover if this was possible through a highways access appraisal.

Traffic speeds were detected through manual measurement and proved to be within acceptable levels, and advice was given to the client to negotiate to upgrade the public footway which runs alongside the site in conjunction with the access to enable the access to be acceptable.
